Welcome to the all new,improved version of this exiting new "WebbSite". In a change from most other sites on the subject of Gary Numan, I will be taking an alternative look at the man, his music and his haircut! As you may already have guessed, this is not a place to visit if you do not have a sense of humour. The opinions in these pages may differ from those of most Numanoids around the country and I expect it may not go down too well with some of them. If you are one of these types of people and are already thinking about complaining to me, then you are missing the whole point, I don't care.
To give you some idea of why I felt it necessary to start this site, I have put the cover of my favourite Numan song at the beginning of the page. I know that a lot of people would say it is not a Gary Numan song because it isn't from "REPLICAS" or "TELEKON", but for me, and quite a few other people I know, it represents one of his best efforts. I have been a fan of Gary Numan since 1979 and indeed, "Cars" was actually the first record I ever bought. However, I have liked all of Gary's albums and have enjoyed the various styles of music he has gone through. I don't think that these albums should be dismissed as "not Gary Numan" simply because Gary says that he now thinks he had lost his way with them. If the albums were not any good for all those years, why did so many people say they liked them at the time? Why do some of the same people now say they didn't really like them? Some people seem to change their own opinions on things just because that's the latest thing that Gary says.
NUMANARCHY in the U.K. hopes to look at the other opinions that are out there, not just those that agree with Gary's all the time.
Of course, I wouldn’t want you to get the wrong idea about me, I am in fact a big fan of Gary’s and he is the person who has been the fourth biggest influence on my life, my parents and Frank Sidebottom being the top three! I have a lot of respect for Gary and have had some truly excellent times at concerts etc over the years. I have met him on a number of occasions and have found him to be mostly friendly and at times some of my mates have had great laughs with him, there aren't any other "rock stars" that I know of that you could say that about. At some point in the future you will be able to read about some of these times, as soon as I can find the time to write it all out!
To sum up, this site is intended to be light hearted in places and to give an honest representation of my views as a Gary Numan Fan. You may not agree with me all the time and that's just fine, but, don't be offended by this... I'm not out to offend anyone. Almost anyone can get their opinions on the internet these days, after all, I'm here! You can always put some of your own thoughts out there for people to read if you want to.
